He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin F. "Dutch" and Marian Behrend (Reeser); his siblings-in-law, Sheila Behrend, Catherine Tammenga and Tony Johnson; and his niece Kim Behrend.
He is survived by: his wife Margo Johnson; his children, LuAnn Kerr (Jimmy) of East Moline and Jeremy Behrend of Muscatine; his grandsons, Jesse, Chase and Tanner Esmoil; his great grandchildren, Reese and Gracie Esmoil; and his siblings, Jim Behrend of California, Bill Behrend of Muscatine and Jane Watters (Doug) of Davenport. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
