She was predeceased by: her parents, Jim Thorne Sr. and Anna Marie Burke; her granddaughter Sadie Alvarado; and her brothers, Allen Thorne and Walter Williams.
She is survived by: her husband Ismael Martinez of Muscatine; her children, Freddy Martinez (Nadine) of Muscatine, Peter Martinez of Muscatine, Wendy Martinez of Muscatine, Brandy Gilpin (Joshua) of Muscatine and Cindy Echevarria (Cruz) of Muscatine; and her siblings, Jim Thorne Jr. of Muscatine, Diane Rodriguez (Mariano) of Muscatine, Carol Snyder (Buck) of Muscatine, Bonnie West of Louisa County and Connie Osborn (Kenny) of Muscatine. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established at the funeral home in memory of Sherry.
