She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Freese and Esther Freese (Huttig); her husband Paul Satterthwaite; and her brother Delmar. She is survived by: her children, Fred Satterthwaite of Muscatine, Vicki Calkins (Doug) of Muscatine, Kay Flambeau (Randy) of Warsaw and Karen Yant (Rob) of Marshall, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Justin Yant of Muscatine, Clint Calkins of Coralville, Amber Schierberg of Port Clinton, OH, Clay Calkins of Muscatine, Kaila Ruan of San Antonio, TX, Jaun-Paul Flambeau of Quincy, IL and Rhea Flambeau of Carthage, IL; and her brother Melvin Freese (Margarete) of Davenport. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Verna's name.
