We are sad to announce that on January 12, 2021, at the age of 78, Karen Elizabeth Penningroth of Nevada, Iowa, born in Maquoketa, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Vincent Paul and Camilla May Beck (Peterson); and her brother Gary Beck. She is survived by : her husband Lloyd Albert Penningroth of Nevada; her children, Lynn Rhodes (Mark) of Nevada, Julie Ellis (Boyd) of Germantown, TN and Vincent Penningroth (Heather) of Ankeny; her grandchildren, Mara Rhodes (Riley Kindwall), Hattie Rhodes, Maddie Ellis, Audrey Penningroth, Jackson Penningroth and Quinn Ellis; and her brother Randy Beck of Davenport. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, January 17th 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Memorial Lutheran Church (701 11th St, Nevada, IA 50201). A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 17th 2021 at 11:00 AM at the same location. Face coverings and social distancing will be required.
