With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gretchen Courtney of New Hampton, Iowa, who passed away on December 19, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Guenther and Edith Guenther (Witte); her husband Charles J. Courtney; her siblings-in-law, Cecil Courtney, Harold Courtney and Fern Courtney; and her niece Marylou Courtney.

She is survived by: her children, Sue Ellen Johnson (Gordon) of Bettendorf, IA, Charles Douglas Courtney (Nina) of Richmond, MO, Lori Meyer (Bruce) of North Liberty, IA, Debra Larsen (Marty) of New Hampton, IA and David Courtney (Holly) of Waterloo, IA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and soon to be 22 great-grandchildren.
