He was predeceased by : his parents, Samuel Whitney and Leota Whitney (Peters); his wife Patricia; and his siblings, Mary Whitney, Evelyn Dewey (Rolland) and Don Whitney (Lucy).
He is survived by : his former life partner Phyllis Briggs; his daughters, Michelle and Melissa; his former life partner Charlotte Goodlove; his children, Julie Wood (Rick) of Central City, IA, Mike Whitney (Sue) of Waverly, IA, Neil Whitney (Brenda) of Frederika, IA, Rachel Slagle (Allen) of Little Elm, TX, Randy Fike (Kim) of Flower Mound, TX, David Fike of Traer, IA and Debbie Fenner of Iowa; and his great grandchild Walker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
