Marlene V. Weigel Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marlene V. Weigel of New Hampton, Iowa, who passed away on August 7, 2020 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Vincent Laures and Ida Laures (Schueller); her stepmother Ellen Laures; her siblings, Elaine Wedeking, Rita Burgart, Virginia Laures, Dale Laures, Kenny Laures and Virgil Laures; and her siblings-in-law, Kathleen Laures, Gerald Burgart and Roger Wedeking.

She is survived by: her children, Keith (Wendy) of Minnetonka, MN, Wes (Terri) of Madison, WI, Rick (Luann) of Grinnell, Bruce (Callie) of Elma, Joe (Pat) of Clear Lake, Luann Woodward (Jeff) of Waterloo, Mary Mahoney (Phil) of New Hampton and Connie Njus (Dennis) of New Hampton; and her siblings, Cletus Laures (Jeanne) of Ionia and Diane Brandt (Dave) of Charles City. She is also survived by eight children, 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no public visitation, a private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at Holy Family Parish, New Hampton with Rev. Brian Dellaert celebrating the Mass.

If so desired, memorials may be given to St. Joseph School or St. Croix Hospice.
