She was predeceased by: her parents, Vasil P. Balaban and Dora Balaban (Geloff); her husbands, Delmar Jacobsen and Hubert "Hap" Halberstadt; her son Paul Jacobsen; her granddaughter Lisa Schrader; her siblings, Pete, Mike Balaban, Tonna Stoynoff, Helen Anderson and Irene Caffrey; and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Jacobsen.
She is survived by: her children, Judith Budwig (Jim) of Colwell, IA, Tom Jacobsen of Greensburg, PA, Stephen Jacobsen (Bonnie) of Coon Rapids, MN, Ray Halberstadt (June) of Des Moines, IA and Joann Downing (Doug) of Mascoutah, IL. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
