She was predeceased by: her parents, James Collins and Viola Collins (Halbur); her husband Joe; her siblings, Elaine Costigan (William), Walter Collins (Lorraine) and Anna Mae Roethler; and her close friend Paul Johnson.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Pat Martin of Marion, IA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
A rosary was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 8:30 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (206 N Broadway Ave, New Hampton, IA 50659). Visitation was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Mary Jean requested memorials to be directed to St Joseph Community School.
