Nadine Irene Whiteman Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nadine Irene Whiteman (New Hampton, Iowa), who passed away on January 9, 2020 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Pitts and Bessie Pitts (Miller); her husbands, Francis Junko and Darold Whiteman; her siblings, Rollie Keeler, Calvin Pitts and Phyllis Potter; her stepson Larry Whiteman; and her grandson Nicholas Merritt.
She is survived by: her children, Barb, Steve, Kathy Merritt (Steven) of Williamsburg, IA, Barbara Matuska (Tom) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Robert Junko (Patricia) of Braselton, GA and Steven Junko (Carol) of Liberty, MO; her stepdaughters, Cynthia Platte (Herb) of New Hampton, IA and Susan Rausch (David) of Fort Atkinson, IA.; her grandchildren, Andrew Merritt of Valparaiso, IN, Jama Pirkl (Kevin) of Tiffin, Eric Matuska (Amy) of Ankeny, Travis Matuska (Tiffany) of Marion, Todd Smith (Maria) of Braselton, GA, Joseph Junko (Samantha Compton) of Homestead, FL and Autumn Winegar of Overland Park, KS; and her stepgrandchildren, Jesse Platte (Ashley), Sarah Zuke (Matt), Curtis Platte (Kelly), Amanda Wolter (Jason), Ashley Reicks (Eric), Brian Rausch (Alex), Andrea Rausch, Nicholas Rausch, Kristopher Rausch (Sara), Haillie Reicks (Trent) and Emily Rausch. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
In the early 2010s, Nadine was diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease, which hit her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren hard, because they had known Nadine for so many years as a woman always on the go all the time.
