He was loved and cherished by many people including: his husband Tom; his grandchildren, Cailin, Christian, Greyson, Levi, Lila and Violet; his wife Susan of New Hampton, IA; his children, Lucas Zearing of Hudson, IA and John Soenen (Katie) of Friendsville, PA; his parents, Jerry Soenen and Florence Soenen of Emmetsburg, IA; and his siblings, Gregory Soenen (Elizabeth) of Goldfield, IA, Bob Soenen (Jane) of Emmetsburg, IA, Ken Soenen (Karen) of Rockwell City, IA, Marylee Orr (Dave) of Emmetsburg, IA, Annie Vaske (Gary) of Bancroft, IA and Julie Koeppel (Jim) of Coralville, IA. He was also cherished by brother and three sisters.
