He was predeceased by: his parents, N. J. "Steve" Westerbeck and Mary Hannah Wellington Westerbeck; his siblings, Joyce Staley, Norman and Dickie Westerbeck; and his grandson Logan Michael Esbaum.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Anne Anderson (Chris) of New London and Jennifer Jayne Loyd (Damon) of New London; his stepchildren, Sandra Lynn Esbaum (Kip) of Lowden, Patricia Jo Gill-Jones of New London and Travis Eugene Gill (Amy) of Salem; his grandchildren, Samuel Loyd (Alexis), Layney Cooper (Judah), Gaige Gill (Maureen), Claire Jones, Laettner Esbaum (Jalen), Elle Esbaum (Mathew Meline) and Pavin Esbaum; his great grandchildren, Mac and Mara Gill; and his brother Mark Westerbeck (Nell) of Georgia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and a host of good friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the New London Black and Gold Backers and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
