He was predeceased by: his father Edward "Ed" Peterson; and his brother Troy Peterson. He is survived by: his mother Dixie Peterson (Westercamp) of Newton; his son Christopher Johnson (Elizabeth) of Runnells; his grandchildren, Cameron, Preston and Julia; his siblings, Corey Peterson of Newton and Kelly Peterson of Texas; his siblings' children, Josh Peterson (Melissa) of Newton, Cameron Smith (Riley Versteegh), Anissa Smith and Rylinn Peterson; River Smith.
