He was predeceased by: his father Bernard Lavern "Barney"; his daughter Shelley; his brother David Ohl; his parents-in-law, DeWayne and Barbara Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Rueber, Dennis Rueber and Gary Smith.
He is survived by: his mother Alverda M. Ohl (Lau) of Oelwein; his wife Julie Ohl of Fayette; his daughter Liz Nelson North (Brad); his grandson Tristan Nelson of North Liberty; his sister Emmilee Kohl (Gary Vogel) of Iowa City; and his siblings-in-law, David Smith of Knoxville, Jon Smith (Lynn) of Center Point and Denise Smith of Bussey. He is also survived by Nieces & Nephews.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks are suggested at the visitation and service.
