He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin F. Schmidt and Ella Schmidt (Lauck); and his sister Elaine Bloker. He is survived by: his wife Nora Elaine Hammond; his sons, David (Ann) and Allan; his grandchildren, Patrick, Chloe, Hannah and Tyler (Ashley Navratil); his sister Marilyn Thalacker (William Thalacker) of Waverly; and also Holstein.
