He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Johnson, Sr. and Mabel Johnson (Cole); his parents-in-law, John and Evelyn Mercer (Reeves); his daughter Elizabeth Ann; his siblings, Dolly Maxwell (Harold), Bill Johnson, Mary Ann Rogers (Howard) and Gerald "Pete" Johnson (Pat); his siblings-in-law, Phyllis and Walt Wendel; and his nephew Gary Lee Cooper.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Johnson of Onawa, Iowa; his sisters-in-law, Alice Cooper of Sergeant Bluff, Sharon DeVos (Mike) of Sergeant Bluff, Betty "Deb" Derrick (Gary) of Sergeant Bluff and Elaine Vaughn of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and his niece Jo Cooper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
