He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Uthe and Esther Uthe; and his siblings, Joe, Lawrence, Dan Uthe, Marge Colantino and Mary Anton.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Oliver of Elma; his sons, Doug Uthe (Pam) of Osage and Dave Uthe (Michelle) of Riceville; his grandchildren, Marcus (Kayla), Ashley, Taylor, Kayla and Michael Uthe; and his sister Mary Smith of Boone.
