He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Jay Cox and Mary Belle Cox (McFee); his brother-in-law Larry Alger; his parents-in-law, Harry and Marjorie Ketcham; his wife Martha Cox of Osceola, IA; his daughters, Marianne Hellums (Chad) of Norwalk, IA, Christina Ayers (David) of Creston, IA and Abigail Hostettler (Michael) of Lees Summit, MO; his grandchildren, Madeline Hellums, Charlotte Hellums, Penelope Ayers, Jameson Hostettler, Harrison Hostettler and Greyson Hostettler; his sisters, Nancy Boostrom (Stan) of Santa Rosa, CA, Donna Walter (Jerry) of Sun City, AZ and Helen Alger of Red Oak, IA; his brothers-in-law, Kirk Ketcham (Sherry) of Newnan, GA and Mike Ketcham (Tracey) of Marshalltown, IA; his nephews, Todd Walter (Paula) of Madrid, IA, John Walter (Debbie) of Quincy, IL, Kurt Kelley (Tami) of Elkhorn, NE and Matthew Ketcham; his niece Meghan Ketcham; and his aunt Shirley Pennock (Derschel) of Osceola, IA. He was also cherished by his daughters and in later life, his son-in-laws and grandchildren.
