He is survived by: his daughters, Deb Pontier of Overland Park, KS and Maria Parker (Rich) of Altoona, IA; his grandchildren, Kyle Pontier (Sara) of Issaquah, WA, Adam Pontier (Jennifer) of Overland Park, KS, Sarah Ackerman (Colin) of Chicago, IL, Hillary Saffels (Blake) of Overland Park, KS, Wendy Cline (Chad) of Carlisle, IA, Dustin Hamell of Carlisle, IA, Jessica Hamell of Altoona, IA, Nathan Parker (Samantha) of Iowa City, IA and Jeremy Parker; his great grandchildren, Chase, Ayla Cline of Carlisle, IA, Max Hamell of Carlisle, IA, Mason Parker of Iowa City, IA, Judah, Jasper, Julian Pontier of Issaquah, WA, Annabelle, Sadie, Peter Pontier of Overland Park, KS, Margot Ackerman of Chicago, IL, Emerson, Lillian and Olivia Saffels of Overland Park, KS; his sisters, Wanda Jones, Willene Arthur (Lawrie) and Kay Kent; his sister-in-law Carolyn Timmons; and his siblings' children, Kelly and Mike Blanchard. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kale Funeral Home (301 S Main St, Osceola, IA 50213). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Kale Funeral Home - Osceola (301 S Main St, Osceola, IA 50213).
Interment will be in the Van Wert CemeteryIn lieu of flowers, Wendell's family suggests memorials to the Weldon Christian Church or the Van Wert Community Center.
