He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harold and Dorothy M. Weatherwax Gross; and his stepfather Harold Goetsch. He is survived by: his wife Carol Floyd; his children, John H. Gross (Cindy) of Urbandale and Leigh Ann Powell (Dale) of Coffey, Missouri; his granddaughter Kristin Gonzalez (Dan); his great grandchildren, D. J. and Breann Gonzalez; and his brother Donald Gross.
