She was predeceased by : her former life partner Michel Bass; and her sister Bea Schnell. She is survived by : her husband Rick L. Gersema of Parkersburg; her children, Peter M. Bass (Kandace) of Polk City, IA and Jessica A. Schrock (Nick) of Lee's Summit, MO; her grandchildren, Evelyn, Micah, Mason and Annie Schrock; and her brother-in-law Joe Schnell of Waverly, IA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the First Congregational Church in Parkersburg or the Parkersburg Historical Society.
