He was predeceased by: his parents, Epke Gerrit and Emma Marie Roorda (Boot); his spouse Gerdena Van Hemert; his parents-in-law, Ed and Gertie Van Hemert (De Penning); and his siblings, Melvin Gerrit Roorda, Erma Helen De Vries (Roorda), Edgar John Roorda and Robert Adrian Roorda. He is also survived by his six children, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
