He was predeceased by: his parents, William C. Allen and Hazel M. Allen (Miller); his siblings, Fred, Marjorie Stone and Ruth Miller; and his siblings-in-law, E. H. "Phil" Miller and Marlene Allen.
He is survived by: his wife Lois; his sons, Greg (Janelle) of Des Moines and Karl (Crysti) of Urbandale, Iowa; his grandchildren, Benjamin Allen and Hannah Allen; his brother Richard Allen (Rosemary) of Nevada, Iowa; his half-brother David Downey of California; and his siblings-in-law, Sharan Davis (Jerry) of Tucson, Arizona, Janis Diehl of Nevada, Marjorie Morphet (Donnie) of Groveland, Florida and Larry McKim (Claudia) of Nevada. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
