It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Connie Gau (Portsmouth, Iowa), who passed away on March 4, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Vincent Arkfeld and Anna Marie Arkfeld (Schmitz); her brother Dr. Don Arkfeld; and her nephew Dennis Sonderman. She is survived by: her husband Phil Gau of Panama; her children, Ron Gau (Kathy) of Persia, Rick Gau (Lois) of Woodbine, Dave Gau (Nancy Gau) of Harlan, Janel (Mark McKinney) of Underwood, Julie (Dave Esser) of Woodbine and Rachele (Kirk Campbell) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; her siblings, Dr. Francis Arkfeld (Peggy) of Omaha, Nebraska, Lola Sonderman (Ken) of La Habra and LaVonne (Bob Deirs) of Scottsdale, Arizona; and her sister-in-law Dr. Sara Arkfeld of Omaha. She is also survived by many other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
