She was predeceased by : her parents, Dan L. Malkmus and Dorothy L. Malkmus (Rathke); her husband Harold; and her siblings, Anne Renquist (John), Pete Malkmus (Jo) and Margaret.

She is survived by : her children, Mark Thoms of Reinbeck and Maria Doppler of Lowell, Indiana; her grandchildren, Alexander Doppler (Sam), Nicholas Doppler and Elizabeth Doppler; her great grandchild Violet; and her sister Katie McKibban (Paul).
