He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Gabel and Gertrude Gabel (Allen); his stepmother Celeste Havey Gabel; and his sister Marilyn Wills. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Crandall; his children, Jeffery Gabel of Charles City, Rick Gabel (Danene) of Cedar Falls and Marnie Wilkes (Troy) of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Caleb Gabel (Ashley), Austin Gabel, Danny Gabel, Chelsea Smith (Jake) and Chanlea Thompson (Jason); and his great grandchildren, Kayson and Lincoln. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
