He is survived by: his wife Marlene Purdie of Sac City, IA; his children, Jennifer Thayer (Mike) of Odebolt, IA, Barbara Ramsey (Stephanie Kroft) of Bellevue, NE, Christopher Ramsey of Sac City, IA and Tonya Ramsey of Sac City, IA; his grandchildren, Chanin Johnson (Jeremy Buschmann), Aleisha, Brett, Denae Thayer, Oliver, Declan Ramsey and Hayley Ramsey; his great grandchild Henry Buschmann; his mother-in-law Mildred Purdie of Rockwell City, IA; and his brothers-in-law, Arlin Purdie (Debbie) of Altoona, IA, Bob Purdie (Jody) of Mitchellville, IA and Marlyn Purdie of Lytton, IA.
