It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Duane J. Mahrt of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, born in Kingsley, Iowa, who passed away on January 5, 2021, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Mahrt and Anne Turkington; his wives, Marjorie Mahrt and Merna Mahrt; his children, Jeff Mahrt and Lynn Monroe; his sister Louise Chilson; his siblings-in-law, Gola Bales, Eunice Snyder, Bob Chilson and Cecil Snyder; and his grandson Gregory Mahrt.
He is survived by: his brother Doug Brown (Mary); his children, Bill Mahrt (Cathie) of Sioux City, David Burke (Tricia) of Ocean Springs, Miss., Sue Wilcox (Scott) of Dakota Dunes and Renee Marks (Kenny) of Greely, Colo.; his daughter-in-law Judy; and his grandchildren, Travis (Tad), Lindsey (Ben), Larry (Amy), Kris (Grace), Maggie (BJ), Angie (Chris), Andy, Allison (Bryan), Ashley (Cody), Grant, Lance, Miranda (Scott), Jackie (Julie), Josephine, Graham and Lael. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
Masks and social distancing will be required for the entire visit and service.
