He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hipnar and Meta Hipnar (Luth); his daughter Patti Whitmore; and his brothers, Don Hipnar and Larry Hipnar.

He is survived by: his wife Marlene Hipnar; his children, Cindy Elseman (Ed) and Dave Hipnar (Pam); his grandchildren, Andy Hipnar (Kelsey), Molly Trotter (Mark), Jolene Whitmore (Jake Baden) and Tom Whitmore (Halie); and his great grandchildren, Gavin Hipnar, Hayden Hipnar, Kallen Hipnar and Brayden Whitmore. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
