We are sad to announce that on December 8, 2019, at the age of 93, Dorothy Groote (Sibley, Iowa), born in Melvin, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Backer and Winnie Backer (Rosenboom); her stepmother Ida Backer; her husband Frederick Groote; her siblings, Ruth Loerts of Sibley, IA, Ervin Backer and Donald; and her stepsiblings, LaVonne Balt, Delbert and Calvin Kadous.
She is survived by: her children, Bernard, Bernie Groote (Maxine) of George, IA, Bob Groote (Pam) of Sibley, IA and Marilyn Marnach of Sioux Falls, SD. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
