He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald Petersen and Leone Hanno; his parents-in-law, Willie and Ruth Henrichs; his stepfather Edward Grey; his daughter-in-law Pam Petersen; and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Henrichs and George Henrichs.

He is survived by : his wife Shirley Henrichs (Eve); his children, Larry Petersen of Watertown, SD, Loren Petersen (Vonnie), Laureen McCarty (Pat) and Kathy Ernst (Larry); his half-siblings, Doug Petersen, Mary Jo McNeal and Susan Stoner; and his siblings-in-law, Bertha Schultz (Wallace) of Rushmore, MN., Ruth Ann Henrichs of Sibley, IA., Linda Jansma (Clifford) of Sheldon, IA., Rhonda Henrichs of Sibley, IA. and Wendell Henrichs (Joyce) of Florida. He is also survived by his 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Family will not be present and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
