He was predeceased by : his father Maurice Carpenter; and his brother Mike Carpenter. He is survived by : his mother Charlotte Smith Carpenter of Hayesville; his former life partner Mavis Williamson; his son Daniel Lawrence Scott Carpenter (Candace) of Gassville, AR; his friend Makya; his wife Cheryl Carpenter of Sigourney; his children, Eric Carnahan (Maleah) of Sigourney and Amanda Gillam (Shaun) of Sigourney; his brothers, Mark Carpenter (Lori) of Aberdeen, SD and Brian Carpenter (Elsa) of Tracy, CA; and his grandchildren, Alivia Carnahan, Maverick Gillam, Ashlynn Gillam, Emily Short, Paige Carpenter, Tony Mell, Junior Mell, Tyler Johnson and Oriana Rios. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
