She was predeceased by : her parents, Richard Merz and Margaret Merz (Sondag); her sons, Tim and Jeff Shannon; and her siblings, Burnita Besser and Ron Merz.
She is survived by : her husband Raymond "Pat" Shannon of Sigourney; her sons, Rik Shannon (Carol) of Des Moines, Terry Shannon (Susan) of Kansas City and Randy Shannon (Karen) of Glenrock; and her sisters, Jeanette Hammes of Sigourney, Marlene Hammes of Delta and Danita Keller of Peoria, Arizona.. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
