He was predeceased by : his father Robert Schmitz; and his sister Danielle Schmitz. He is survived by : his wife Kathy Schmitz of Silver City, Iowa; his mother Elaine Schmitz of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; his children, Billie Barnes (Jason) of Sparta and Timothy Fisher of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his grandchildren, Raegan and Cassidy Barnes; and his siblings, Vincent Schmitz (Kristy) of New London, Theodore Schmitz (Lesley) of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Doris Brunnett of Norwalk and Diane Griffith (Derek) of Bondurant, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
