He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Cowan and Ann Cowan (Boardman); his brothers, Gordon and William Cowan; and his nephew Christopher Cowan.
He is survived by: his brother Dwayne Cowan of Sioux City; and his nieces and nephews, Shawna Sward (Chris), Laura Cowan, William Cowan (Tasha) and Keith Cowan.
