He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Rentel; and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Albers and Colleen Goodwin. He is survived by: his mother Caroline Rentel (Udell); his wife Nancy Rentel of Sioux City; his children, Alison Rentel Lacska (John) of Stillwater, MN and Nicholas Rentel (Renee); his grandchildren, Grayson and Amelia; his siblings, Julie Cook and Kevin Rentel (Susan); and his siblings-in-law, Terry Goodwin and Kaye Albers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (3204 S Lakeport St, Sioux City, IA 51106). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
