It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon George Hughes of Sioux City, Iowa, who passed away on April 4, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mable Louise and Velmer Hollis Hughes; his siblings, Ordway, Jim, Rodney, Velmar, Jr., Vila Caskey, Louise Girrand and Ona McSperritt; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Hughes, Frank McSperritt, Kenneth Girrand and Freeman Caskey.
He is survived by: his sons, Jay, Jermie, Justin Lewis and Chance Brenner; his wife Normagene Hale of Sioux City; his daughter Georgenea Oldenkamp (Joel); his granddaughter Georgina Lewis; his sister Nita Ashmore (Roland) of Lincoln, Nebraska; his sisters-in-law, Bernice, Frances and Artie; and also, Georgenea Ann and Georgina Kay.
