He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Rassel and Fern Rassel (Peck); his wife Margaret Gengler; his sons, Ronnie and Marvin; his grandson Xavier; his sister Kathleen Johnson (Harold); and his brother-in-law Jon Bushman.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Rassel of Sioux City, IA, Julie Rassel of Harlan, IA, John Rassel of Sioux City, IA, Mark Rassel (Amy) of Orange City, IA, Jason Rassel of Wall Lake, IA, Susan Rassel of Struble, IA, Joe Rassel (Missy) of Kingsley, MI and Kristi Rassel (Stacy Weston) of Sioux City, IA; and his siblings, Paul Rassel (Nancy) of Marcus, IA and Norma Bushman of Billings, MT. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended relatives.
