She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Johnson and Helen Johnson (Popanz); and her husband Glen Bates. She is survived by: her son Timothy Bates (Barbara) of Spencer, IA; her stepchildren, Mary, Gale and Robert; and her siblings, Robert Johnson, Marilyn Zellaha, Shy Pearson and Mary Nuovo.
