He was predeceased by : his parents, Rudolph Nitardy and Marie Nitardy; and his siblings, Alice Bartz (George), Barbara Rose, Otto Nitardy and Bob Nitardy (Harriet).

He is survived by : his sisters, Carolyn Gerdts (Bruce) and Margaret Buenger (Eugene) of Tripoli, IA.; his nieces and nephews, Jim Bartz (Kay), Ellen DeRycke (Dennis), Steve Nitardy (Terrie), David Rose, Mary Kellogg (Eric), Greg Buenger (Kendra), Jim Buenger (Kim), Mark Buenger, Carolyn Dawson (Dan), Henry Nitardy, Mike Gerdts (Denise), Lori Gerdts and Doug Gerdts (Coral); and his uncles, Joey, JoeJoe, Joseph and Joe.
