She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross Starrett and Rubie Starrett (Hart); her husband Stanley T. Ashby; her daughters, Connie Nelson and Caroline; her siblings, Eldon "Bud" Starrett and Janice Starrett Barber; and her son-in-law Ronald Nelson.
She is survived by: her son Larry Ashby (Roxanna) of Newton; her grandchildren, Johnna Ellen Donahue (Mark) of Colfax and Casey Nelson (Sophia Snapp) of Des Moines; her great grandchildren, Charlotte Ashby Donahue of Colfax and Olivia Constance Nelson of Des Moines; and her close friends, Sonja Hull of Newton and Barbara Tininenko of Kellogg.
