He is survived by: his wife Betty of Waterloo; his son Steve Carter; his daughters-in-law, JoAnn Carter of Red Rock, Ariz. and Susan Gonterman of Independence; his grandchildren, Deborah, Pamela, Timothy, Matthew, Kristin, Anthony, Jeremy, Michael and Kathleen; and his great grandchildren, Maya K., Benjamin, Joseph, Liliana, Naomi, Layla, Fiona and Zadok. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law and numerous nephews and nieces.
