He was predeceased by: his mother Phyllis Carnine; and his sister Patricia Boatman. He is survived by: his wife Linda Glispey Carnine; his daughter Wendy; his son-in-law John Presson; his grandchildren, Connor, Caroline and William of Wichita Falls, Texas; his son Thad; his brother Barry Carnine of Omaha, Nebraska.; Julie, Kailey, Jenna and Alyssa of Edmond, Oklahoma.

In his memory, donations may be made to the University of Arkansas to the Carnine Endowed Scholarship in Education Leadership at 210 Administration, 1 University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR 72701-9980. Donations may also be made to Warr Acres Nursing Center, 6501 N. Macarthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73127.
