It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ronna Lea Jones-Peterson of Story City, Iowa, who passed away on May 9, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rex Abel and Frances Abel (Lindsay); and her brother Roger Abel. She is survived by: her husband Rodney Peterson; her children, Todd Jones (Leanna Lindenman) of Ankeny and Traci Cunningham (Jim) of Council Bluffs; her stepchildren, Jeremy Peterson (Molly Rose) of Tiffin and Shelly Day of Greenfield; and her grandchildren, Calea Jones, Kellen Jones, Kyler Jones, Lauren Lindley, Logan Lindley, Levi Peterson and Jacob Peterson. She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gilbert Lutheran Church (135 School St, Gilbert, IA 50105). A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers and other customary remembrances, Ronna's family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed towards Memorials to Households of Bethany at Bethany Life Story City, and sent to the family's attention, care of Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care, 414 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa, 50010.
