He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bishop and Betty Bishop (Wetherall); his children, Brian and Kelly; his brother Robert "Bob" Bishop; and his brother-in-law Silas Andersen.

He is survived by: his wife Loretta; his daughters, Tracey Bishop Gosselin and Kristi Bishop of Kansas; his siblings, Nancy Bishop, Judi Williams (Mike), Carlisle Andersen, Beth Andersen and David Bishop of Lacona; his grandchildren, Joseph Ortega (Natessia), Sara Ortega, Indianola, Brian, Jeremy Sproul, Alex and Ethan Rice; his great grandchildren, Alicia, Devon, Avianna, Alexandra, Dominic, Isaiha, Arya and Neveah; his siblings' children, Ben Williams, Emily Gavin (Al), Andrea Horsey (Guy), Nicole Herndon (TJ), Tenneille Selby (Jim), Chelsea Harryman (Zach) and Will Bishop; his aunts, Shirley Kent and Jean Chipp; his uncle Jerry Wetherall; his sons, Steve Janssen (Anietra) and Mark Janssen (Stella Mosely); his grandchildren, Amy Kinney (Jason), Eric Janssen, Adam Janssen and Hanna Janssen; and his great grandchildren, Connor and Jaxson Kinney. He is also survived by six children.
