It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sue Ballew of Swedesburg, Iowa, born in Rigby, Idaho, who passed away on February 7, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fabyn Albert and Sarah Norma Scott Hanson; her former husbands, Donald Ballew and Robert Smith; and her siblings, Jeanà Smith and Niles Hanson.
She is survived by: her husband Paul G. Hazelett of Swedesburg, IA; her children, Jeffrey Dale Ballew (Robin) of Woodland Hills, UT, Christopher David Ballew (Selma) of League City, TX, David Dale Ballew (Ariah) of Boise, ID, Sarah Dee Behunin of Salem, IA, Emily Dawn Stumpf (Robert "JT") of Burlington, IA, Julie Diane Jones (Doug) of Washington, IA and Rebecca Darlene McDermott (John) of Cascade, IA; and her siblings, Bryce Allen Hanson of Brookfield, IL, Clayne A. Hanson of Salmon, ID and Norma DeeAnn Wright of Chesterfield, MO. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
