She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Varnum and Mary Varnum (Ohland); and her brother Clark. She is survived by: her husband Fred Nekola; her grandchildren, Aiden and Anna O'Brien; and her sister Marietta Schutte of Batavia, Illinois.. She is also survived by her husband, children, grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids and Cedar Rapids Metro Parkinson's Association.
