He was predeceased by : his parents, John Curtis McNeal and Malissia Jane "Gertrude" Watkins McNeal; his siblings, Roland McNeal, Donald McNeal, Myron McNeal, George McNeal, Harold McNeal, Marilyn McNeal, Dorothy Dinham and Annie Guthrie; and his granddaughter Samantha Rexroat.

He is survived by : his wife Viola McNeal of Centerville; his children, Katharine Newman (Earl) of North Carolina, Vicki Rexroat (Randy) of Centerville, Anthony McNeal (Tammy) of Centerville and James McNeal (Julene) of Earlham; his grandchildren, Melanie Johnson (Nathan) of Moravia, Elizabeth Huey (Sam) of Huxley, Iesha McNeal of Centerville, Brandi Rexroat of Centerville, Krisha Greene, DeShann Rexroat of Springfield, Eva, Rowan Fisk of Earlham, Janna Cole (Hank), Kimberly Robbins (Mike) of Virginia, Robert McNicholas II (Searra) of Yulee, Dwight, Nathan McNeal of Centerville and Alexander McNeal of Earlham; and his brother John Curtis McNeal Jr. (Glenda). He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
