As we bid Richard farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Richard is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Marlar and Marilyn Marlar (Matthews). He is survived by: his wife Patsy of Wayland; his daughters, Joanna Williams (Danny) of Bethel, Priscilla Marlar (Eric Brush) of Iowa City and Hannah Doyle (Dustin) of Davenport, Iowa; and his grandchildren, Rachelle Boshears, Leilani Lalaga, Cayson and Leah Doyle.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home & Cremation Service (107 S 15th Ave, Washington, IA 52353).
A memorial fund has been established for Turning Point USA.
