He was predeceased by : his parents, Theodore Knecht and Emma Salz Knecht; his son Bill; and his siblings, Rolanda, Harold, Beatrice and Norbert (Nub).

He is survived by : his wife Ardith Henry (Ardie) of West Bend, IA; and his daughters, Becky Hefty (Dave) of West Bend, IA and Julie Montag (Neil) of West Bend, IA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
